چکیده
We show that in mesoscopic four-terminal thermoelectric devices with two electrodes (the source and the drain) heat baths, inelastic scattering processes can lead to unconventional transport. The (or be cooled by passing a thermal current between no net exchange baths electrodes. This effect, termed as cooling current, is drag effect. In addition, there transverse effect where electrical power generated temperature bias (i.e., baths). originates from processes, may have advantages for improved figures of merit factor due spatial separation charge study Onsager current-affinity relations, linear-response transport properties, figure various system parameters. we investigate efficiency both linear nonlinear regimes. also demonstrate exploiting quantum-dot systems, type Maxwell's demon realized using nonequilibrium baths.

Thermoelectric Transport in Nanocomposites
Thermoelectric materials which can convert energies directly between heat and electricity are used for solid state cooling and power generation. There is a big challenge to improve the efficiency of energy conversion which can be characterized by the figure of merit (ZT). In the past two decades, the introduction of nanostructures into bulk materials was believed to possibly enhance ZT. Nanocom...
متن کاملBerry-phase effect in anomalous thermoelectric transport.
We develop a theory of the Berry-phase effect in anomalous transport in ferromagnets driven by statistical forces such as the gradient of temperature or chemical potential. Here a charge Hall current arises from the Berry-phase correction to the orbital magnetization rather than from the anomalous velocity, which does not exist in the absence of a mechanical force. A finite-temperature formula ...
متن کاملLarge Thermoelectric Effects and Inelastic Scattering in Unconventional Superconductors
The thermoelectric coefficient η(T ) in unconventional superconductors is enhanced below Tc by intermediate strength impurity scattering that is intrinsically particle-hole asymmetric. We compute η(T ) for a strong-coupling d-wave superconductor and investigate the effects of inelastic scattering originating from electron-boson interactions. We show that η(T ) is severely suppressed at temperat...
متن کاملThermoelectric Transport in Nanoscale Materials
Measurements of thermoelectric transport coefficients yield important information regarding fundamental properties of a system in addition to the information supplied from the electronic transport measurements. In this thesis we report gate dependent and temperature dependent conductance (G) and thermoelectric power (TEP) measurements made in three different basic nanomaterials: single-walled n...
متن کاملThermoelectric transport in billiard systems
We discuss the thermoelectric (TE) transport in billiard systems of interacting particles, coupled to stochastic particle reservoirs. Recently in [1], analytical exact expressions for the TE transport of noninteracting gases of polyatomic molecules were obtained, and a novel microscopic mechanism for the increase of thermoelectric efficiency described. After briefly reviewing the derivation of ...
